Before & After Hydroseeding Case Studies
Alberta. 3+ weeks (Seeded: August 4, 2017 / August 28, 2017), watered regularly using built-in irrigation system. Hydroseed application using Grassland's proprietary GSSM™ turf mixture which is specially designed for our local arid and often windy climate. Quick germination can be further enhanced through higher than standard application rates resulting in consistently lush, dense green "After" results.
Lac des Arcs, Alberta. 8 weeks (Seeded: July 7, 2016 / August 28, 2016) irrigated manually; No permanent irrigation system employed nor required. Less than 8 weeks from bare ground to mature lawn. Hydroseed application using Grassland's proprietary GSSM™ turf mixture which is specially designed for our local arid and often windy climate. Quick germination can be further enhanced through higher than standard application rates resulting in the lush, dense green "After" results seen here.
Priddis, Alberta. 5 weeks from initial hydroseed application to the lush, mature lawn seen here (July 23, 2016 / August 26, 2016). Resident irrigated manually just enough to keep site moist. No permanent irrigation system is in place nor required. One of Grassland's proprietary GSSM™ turf mixtures was employed with pre-germination to optimize fast outstanding results.
Highway 40, site 90 at Highwood Pass Kananaskis, Alberta. This is but one of nearly one hundred sites along Hwy 40 that Grassland Hydroseed completed. Sites had previously been devastated by the floods in 2013. The original specification called for reclamation and revegitation with a mixture of broadcast seeding, hydroseeding and erosion control blankets. After Grassland Hydroseed staff evaluated all sites, we determined hydroseeding at custom application rates would yield better—and more importantly—faster results than the specified combination methods. Grassland Hydroseed tailored our proprietary GSSM™ (Grassland Soil Stabilization Matrix) for the different climate conditions in this alpine area. In addition, each site required a slightly different application rate based on local conditions. After only 3 weeks with only two minor rainfalls we noticed good germination. Seen here is 1 year Before/After on rocky ground. No topsoil was added. Perhaps more importantly, to date there has been almost no erosion on any of the sites.
Yet another Highway 40 site (site 152) at Highwood River, Alberta. Seen here is 1 year Before/After on rocky ground. No topsoil was added.
Another Highway 40 site (site 56). 2 years between initial hydroseeding and "After" results (July 19, 2014 / August 15, 2016). Again, rocky ground with no additional topsoil.
